Review of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' on 'Goodreads'

It was a great story. Easy to read, compelling to the end. Some of the story elements I figured out, so I mark it as somewhat predicable. But my enjoyment with this book is up there with Michael Crichton. I'm going to finish out this series before starting up Game of Thrones. It feels great to get back into reading a lot.

This was a very interesting and quick read. Bell was very accomplished, but I was amazed at how varied his studies were. From genetics to hydrofoils, he was busy until his death.

I got the e-book version because it looked like something I'd enjoy. Well, I did enjoy it, only I enjoyed years ago. It took me two and a half chapters to realize it, but sure enough, I've read this already! As you can see in my last review, I like anecdotal history books, but this a lighthearted look at some great facts -- okay A LOT of great fact. Bill Bryson really does science justice by calling it as he sees it and covering lots of ground. Enjoyable read and highly recommended. Now to start Bossypants.

Martin J. Smith, Patrick J. Kiger: Oops (Paperback, 2007, Collins)

Review of 'Oops' on 'Goodreads'

Good little book full of short anecdotes of history, most of which I've heard before, but was still very entertaining. I'd recommend it for anyone that likes historical curiosities and trivia.
