An African American and Latinx History of the United States

By focusing on the history of the US through the lens of African Americans as well as the US's interactions with Latin Americans at home and abroad, Paul Ortiz delivers an insightful analysis that goes beyond the play-by-play. For me the examination of US relations with Mexico around the Civil War was fascinating, as was the review of labor movements in the 20th century. Highly recommend.
