I...didn't get it. Ending came out of nowhere to me, left me feeling like a Neal Stephenson book, or Stephen King's The Dome. A little disappointed because I really liked All The Birds In The Sky.

First 3/4 was great, everything I love about Ms. Chambers's writing. Last quarter was ok, ending came out of nowhere to me. Feels unfinished, like ending a musucal piece without resolving the chords.

Rounding down from 3.5 stars. I understand and mostly agree with the.criticisms about the style of writing and the overly-glowing portrayal of the protaganist.
Still, an enjoyable read.

I really, really enjoy the sci-fi "noir" books he writes, and I'm glad he's come back to them.
Could do without the sex scenes. I'm not a prude, mind you, they just don't seem to advance the story, necessarily.
