Mary Roach: Fuzz (2021, W. W. Norton & Company)

None

A bit of non-fiction for a strange topic, when animals "break the law". Despite the introduction, it's almost entirely modern although it zooms out to get a global view of some issues that I hadn't ever thought about in my own little bubble. Overall, a really fun read about the balance of nature and a healthy dose of optimism at the end that left me on a positive note.

Liam Vaughan: Flash Crash (Hardcover, Doubleday)

Review of 'Flash Crash' on 'Goodreads'

What an insane story that underscores how strange the financial markets are. Appreciated the more human story with great explainers on the way in which the particulars that are significant to the story operate. Without either, it'd be a textbook or woefully inadequate at describing what's going on.
