Review of 'Attack Surface' on 'Storygraph'

This is too close to reality to really be labeled speculative fiction. It's a brilliant story and a timely warning, and I'm not sure why I'm not giving it five stars.

It's great in so many sorts of ways, but isn't it getting to be a bit repetitive? It feels like there's an entire interesting universe just around the corner but we never get to see it.

Review of 'Persephone Station' on 'Storygraph'

Fun action comedy with some interesting views on AI. Marred by some flawed writing, a couple plot holes, and some huge and unnecessary typos. It feels a bit like Artemis (yeah that one) just done better.

Review of 'Half-Earth' on 'Storygraph'

This book contains an important idea, and so should have been a good book. Unfortunately it doesn't really say anything other than "this is an important idea".

Oh and "nature is beautiful and important", which it is. Then what?

Kim Stanley Robinson: The Ministry for the Future (Paperback, 2021, Orbit)

KSR on excellent form, as usual nobody is going to save the world single-handedly here, yet this is perhaps the most optimistic KSR story I've read in a while. Lovers of the Mars trilogy and Science in the Capital will enjoy this as well.
