Orange County, California, in the 21st Century. Designer drugs, freeways that glide, soar and loop through the landscape; it's a mass-culture, video-saturated world, and the living looks easy... Jim McPherson, a twenty-seven-year-old adrift in this affluent society, lives his life through dreams of the past. Dennis, his father, is an aerospace engineer deeply involved in military research, a fact that Jim ignores - until he becomes a minor urban terrorist out of boredom.
