A Rapid-Fire Run Through of Native American History
3 stars
The title here is quite accurate - this book does run through and mostly eviscerate a bit over 20 myths about Native Americans. The book works through these myths mostly chronologically, from the migration paths of Native American ancestors to recent myths around casino wealth, sports mascots, and more. I wish there was more connective tissue between these brief chapters, and if you're looking for a cohesive historical analysis Dunbar-Ortiz's other book is a better bet. If on the other hand you want a quick grasp of how to refute many common tropes thrown around today, this is the most concise volume out there.
